No Applause Poetry
This poem was written on 6-15-91 (my sister's 19th birthday). I was in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. It was partially inspired by something that I learned through my uncle, Mason Lazarus, and thus it is dedicated to him.

Feelings

Feelings are forever
born within the soul
nurtured through experience
bound by self-control

Childlike in nature
delicately weaved
beautiful at birth
simple and naive.

A blending of creation
both innocent and blind
inspired by the heart
influenced by the mind

The rawest of emotions
cleverly disguised
veiled in self-discovery
while learning to survive

Adapting by the moment
in states of constant change
Yes, feelings are forever
and forever rearranged
