Sea of Tranquility I

No Applause Poetry
The inspiration for this poem came from my Mgt. 497 class; specifically, the class discussions and the discussions that we had with our professor, Chuck Mathews.

Sea of Tranquility I

In the Sea of Tranquility,
realm of the blind
the seed of fertility
opens the mind

But shimmering lights
in predictable skies
can be too bright to the eyes.

Like feelings of fear
or colors that fade
knowledge so near
yet so far away.

Society’s future
looms in the shade
because nothing’s more frightening
than change.

Like gray in your hair
or age on your skin
or socialization
inviting you in.

In the realm of the blind
change’s disguise
is never too bright to the eyes.
